April 19, 2022
The Cleveland Division of Police is investigating an online video that appears to show two people inside a stopped vehicle point handguns at an officer in a cruiser.

An online video that appears to show two people in a car pointing handguns at a Cleveland police officer is under investigation by the department.

In the footage, which is dated April 6, the individuals are stopped next to an officer in a cruiser, WJW-TV reports. That's when the two pick up handguns equipped with what look like high-capacity magazines and point them at the officer.

"It could have been a deadly situation," Cleveland Councilman Mike Polensek told WKYC-TV. "You have to ask yourself, 'What were they thinking?'"

Although the Cleveland Division of Police said it was investigating the video, officials did not provide any other details.

Jeff Follmer, president of the Cleveland Police Patrolmen's Association, said he hopes the individuals in the video are held accountable.
